March 2019

It’s been a busy month so far and one that has kept me juggling a number of up and coming events. At the start of March there was some very warm and unseasonal weather and I managed to spend a week on the coast at Studland making a series of figure studies. Small oils and lots of paint were used in capturing some of the sightseers, ramblers and dog walkers.

I have three group exhibitions and a drawing event this month to plan for, which means a lot of work to get them all organised. It all starts with finalising the selected paintings for each show and then liaising with the galleries to ensure that they are the best and most appropriate works for their show. Then comes a host of tasks to get the work sorted and delivered on time. I photograph each piece and make sure it is colour accurate and ready to use for adverts, catalogues and flyers. These are sent to each gallery using either Dropbox or WeTransfer. Statements are written, prices calculated, work is sent to the framers, titles are added and labels printed. Plans are then set for delivery and a day set aside for doing this. If possible, I will try to attend the private views, it is always a positive thing to see the paintings in a different setting.
